Add AC Repair and Service to Your Spring To-Do List

Spring is finally here. We’re almost sure your to-do list already feels overly long, but we have a few things that will save you some headaches and keep you cozy in the months to come. The weather is going to start heating up in Bakersfield and the last thing you want is to find out is that you’re facing an AC repair. Going through this quick checklist now might save you from sweating this summer.

  1. Look at Your Air Filter and Ducts
Changing your air filter makes it to almost every one of our lists of tips because it's so important and so often forgotten. If your air filter is a mess, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfy. This costs you more money and causes more wear and tear which decreases the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are a separate piece of the puzzle that is often overlooked as well. While you're spring cleaning, take off the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers pulled off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and switch them after they've dried.
  2. Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units cleared of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can clog your system and cause it to decrease its efficiency.
  3. Schedule Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we enter the picture to help you work on that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up helps improve the life of your system and keeps it working at peak efficiency. Spring is the best time to arrange your tune-up so any problems or AC repair that needs to be made can be addressed before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a small investment into the lifespan of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.

We can't help you with the entirety of your spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to be sure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long.
